The only venture competition for MBA students that focuses on bringing new technologies to market through entrepreneurship

The McGinnis Venture Competition is a global competition with a global impact. In its seventh year, the McGinnis Venture Competition is hosted by the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the David A. Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. We are proud to be the first graduate-level, new venture competition to focus exclusively on bringing new technologies to market through entrepreneurship. With nearly 25% of its participants hailing from outside the United States, the McGinnis Venture Competition is truly an international event that includes top schools from around the world.

Each year no more than 30 teams are selected to compete in the McGinnis Venture Competition. These teams receive an opportunity to present before venture capitalists, angel investors and successful entrepreneurs who are experts in their respective fields. Approximately 50 judges from Silicon Valley, Boston, Seattle, New York, Pittsburgh and beyond take part in the McGinnis Venture Competition. All teams receive invaluable individual feedback from these individuals. If you are interested in entering a team, participating as a sponsor, or if you want more information, please feel free to contact us at djc@andrew.cmu.edu.
